Kitchen Favorites
I wanted to share a few of the items we use on a weekly basis in our kitchen! These are all tried and true and have helped us to work smarter and not harder.
Instant Pot - This literally does EVERYTHING!!! I hate cooking meat any other way and I love that I don’t have to plan ahead like I do with a slow cooker. Rice, dry beans, shredded meat, soups, hard boiled eggs. We use this bad boy all the time and I LOVE IT.
Coffee Scale - We use this to weigh out coffee beans and also baking. I don’t understand why we don’t use the metric system but I am so thankful when I find recipes that go by weight! A regular kitchen scale would be just fine, this is just what we have.
ReZip Bags - They are gallon size and perfect for freezing larger items/quantities of soup. Four servings from the souper cubes fit perfectly. No plastic smell/taste and they’ve held up well to regular use.
Stasher Bags - My favorite silicone bags! They are pretty spendy so I’ve purchased them one at a time and try to wait for them to go on sale. We’ve slowly built up a collection and they are great. I can occasionally find them at Marshalls/Home Goods.
Oval Measuring Spoons - Whoever designed these is a genius because they fit perfectly in spice jars.
Souper Cubes - If you’ve followed me on Instagram for any amount of time, surely you’ve seen me wax poetic about souper cubes. They come in different size portions (I have both 1 cup and 2 cup) and once you freeze your food, it’s super easy to pop out the cubes and store them. I love that I can freeze individual servings and it is so much easier to store frozen soups and stews. I can’t tell you how many glass jars I’ve broken trying to thaw things too quickly.
Silicone Muffin Liners - No food gets left behind and they are SO easy to clean. I use them straight on a cookie sheet instead of in a muffin pan since they stand up so well.
Cast Iron Pan - If I could only have one pan to cook with, this would be it. Everybody should have a cast iron. The end.
Vitamix - We waited for so long to get this and it’s definitely an investment. It works SO WELL and it’s a workhorse in our kitchen. I wasn’t sure if an expensive blender was worth it and let me tell you, it absolutely is. For a while I was using a food processor instead and it was a mess to say the least.
Meal Planning Pad - If I have to meal plan and grocery shop every week, at least let it be cute! I’ve purchased this Rifle pad 3 times in a row and do not have plans to stop any time soon. The grocery list portion has a perforated edge too.
Dutch Oven - My other ride or die cooking vessel. This one is enamel cast iron and the only bummer is that it takes FOREVER to heat up but that means it’s retaining heat which is what you want. It’s just as nice as Le Creuset and a fraction of the price.
There you have it! All of my favorite kitchen tools and things I’d whole heartedly recommend.
